BikeGlow®’s mission is to get more people riding more bikes more often by making biking more fun.

The BikeGlow® Safety Light was the brainstorm of a bicycling enthusiast in the biking mecca of Santa Cruz, CA. “My kids and I have always loved riding our bikes around town in the evenings,” says Chris Cobb, owner and founder of the company. “Headlights and taillights made us visible from the front and back, but drivers still couldn’t see us from the side. I wanted to make sure our family bike rides were as safe and fun as possible. And what could be more visible, and more fun, than a flashing piece of art you can pedal around town?”

Inspired, Cobb designed BikeGlow®, a 10-foot long glowing light strand using electroluminescent technology and a robust power unit. The light itself is wire-like and flexible, so that it can be wrapped around any bicycle frame to make it glow. The entire battery-powered unit weighs less than two ounces and comes in eight different colors that will glow continuously or flash fast or slow at the push of a button. An included velcro strap makes it easy to attach the compact battery pack to any bicycle frame, then wrap the flexible, glowing wire around the frame in any pattern imaginable.

BikeGlow® first started selling online in 2008. Within a year, local, independent bike shops were starting to carry the product. In 2009, REI began selling it in stores and on their website, exposing our revolutionary bike frame safety light to a wider audience. BikeGlow® is now a must-have for all types of bicyclists and is available worldwide.
