BikeGlow Lights Up Bright and Increases Safety

As a part time bike commuter I am always looking for ways to make myself more visible to the insane car drivers in Los Angeles, and one of the best ways to do that is to have lots of light on the bike. I use two blinking tail lights, one very bright handlebar mounted front light, and one helmet mounted front light. But the thing that was always missing was how to be visible from the side?

BIKEGLOW has not only solved this, but they have done it in a bullet proof product. As soon as I put it on my commuter bike (Franken Bike as I like to call her) and turned the BIKEGLOW on I knew that I was going to love this product. It took me no more than 10 minutes to install and have it lite up glowing blue.

So the next morning I headed out early to commute to work in the dark. I turned on all of my lights, including the BIKEGLOW and headed out into the obstacle course of LA traffic. I did not get more than a few blocks before some guy rolled up next to me at a red light and asked me what the cool blue light was on my bike. As I was explaining to him what the BIKEGLOW was, all he wanted to know as he so rudely interrupted my monologue is where to buy one.

The next day my buddy came over to borrow some bike tool he was sure never to return, and when we went into my garage the first thing he noticed was the new addition to my Fraken Bike. I turned it on and his eyes lite up, as he loudly pronounced “I Need One Of These”. It took all of one day for him to track down a BIKE GLOW and have it on his commuter bike for his next ride to school.

So, do I like the BIKEGLOW now that I have been using it for a few months. Simply YES!!!!! It has worked perfect, looks great, and is one of the best products you can buy to increase your safety while riding in the dark. And at just $25.00 it is priced right.

“Bike Glow is a tidy little product that lets you put a tremendous amount of light on your bike, making sure people will see you at night. If you wrap this around your frame as the company suggests, you will be seen! Plus you can make little designs with the very thin and flexible wire.”

Versus loved our product enough to throw it in their holiday gift guide!

"Often, simple is good in design. That's the premise beyond the wrap-around tubing concept for Bike Glow Safety Light. It's a slender tube of lights wrapped around the frame a bike for constant of flashing illumination.

The difference between Bike Glow and traditional bike reflectors is simple. wrapped tube lights up the entire frame. Traditional bike reflectors only reveal a rider only their bike is close the a car."

...believe this is an awesome product. Everyone who sees it in action hoots and hollers - a testament to its sensational conspicuous nature. Even in daylight, people are attracted to it like a moth to flame. My nighttime visibility is up about 300%. I feel safer knowing there is no way to miss me...

A few weeks ago, Chris Cobb of BikeGlow sent us a sample of their bicycle safety lighting to test. I’ve had a chance to install it, play with it and ride several nights with it It is amply bright enough to help motorists distinguish you as a bicycle in those crucial side-vision encounters nighttime cyclists face, where blinkies and headlights don’t offer much in the way of side visibility.

BikeGlow comes in eight colors: aqua, blue, green, pink, purple, red, white and yellow, giving the color-coordinating cyclists among us the perfect color to accent our bikes. And, for the price of $24.95 for the kit, that’s a pretty good deal for adding some visibility to your night rides.

While on the subject of 360 degrees of reflection like the BrightBike idea, here is BikeGlow. Running on battery power the BikeGlow wraps around your frame set, tubing or, I would assume, body.

The 10 foot tube weighs 2oz before batteries and comes in 8 different colors. I think this is a super cool accessory for anyone’s commuter bikes. I also can see it working very well with the “pimp my cruiser” group or to give some spice to your childs ride.
